Stir-Fried Red Mustard Greens with Sesame and Garlic

This quick and flavorful stir-fry highlights the peppery kick of red mustard greens, complemented by aromatic garlic and nutty sesame oil. It's a perfect side dish that comes together in minutes while preserving the vibrant color and crisp texture of the greens.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large bunch red mustard greens, washed and roughly chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Greens:

    • Wash the mustard greens thoroughly and shake off excess water.

    • Remove any tough stems and roughly chop the leaves into bite-sized pieces.

    • Set aside to drain.

  2. Heat the Oils:

    • Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Add sesame oil and swirl to combine.

  3. Cook the Aromatics:

    • Add sliced garlic to the hot oil.

    • Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.

  4. Add the Greens:

    • Add mustard greens to the wok.

    • Toss quickly to coat with the oils and garlic.
