The Initiative
Where the farm becomes the prescription.
The FARMacy Institute is a physician-led food as medicine initiative founded at Bloom Ranch of Acton — the largest Black-owned farm in Los Angeles County.
Established 1891. 250 acres. Backed by a 1st-place award-winning clinical study from the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, documenting an 88.2% average healing rate over 8 weeks.
This is not a wellness program. It is a farm that grows prescriptions.

What To Expect
- 250 Acres, Walked Together: A guided tour of regenerative beds, the heritage orchard, and the clinically curated row crops — with Dr. Releford explaining every crop decision through a clinical lens.
- The Clinical Evidence: A review of the SAWC 1st-place study — 88.2% average healing rate over 8 weeks — and what it means for health systems, FQHCs, and community health programs.
- Entirely On-Farm Menu: Each course composed from produce harvested that morning — physician-selected, nutrient-dense varieties grown for their documented role in wound healing and chronic disease management.
- A Bloom Bounty Box: Hand-packed at the wash station with the day's physician-curated produce — the same produce that healed wounds in our award-winning study — to take home.
